Foundation for a brick shed. discussion in 'building' started by shinogi, 16 apr 2013. so you're saying that if i take my foundations depth to 1 meter, i should be good to go? yes, it is a rule for my build. to build the brick shed without building regulations approval, the "floor area" has to be no larger than 30m2.. Hi, foundations should always be dug 900mm - 1m in depth. these can either be 450mm wide if you fill them to the top with concrete, or, 600mm wide with 225mm of concrete in the trench bottom. we always find the first option the most cost effective.. Foundation depth for a brick built shed. 3 posts page 1 of 1. by alanwalker67 mon feb 23, 2009 3:15 pm . please could anyone tell what depth must the foundations be if i build a garden shed with blocks if the the building is about 30 sq m and 2m high with a slopping wood roof covered in felt..
I'm planning to build a brick shed this year down the bottom of the garden which would be a cavity wall build with brick and block and possibly a flat or slightly raised roof. i plan to do it myself with the help from some friends if needed but i'm unsure about the depth for the foundations.. My footings for a brick built garage, same dimensions are 750mm deep with 500mm of concrete with one row of blocks bringing them back up to ground level.. The depth will depend on the length of the post, normally one third of the post length must go into the footing, with a minimum footing depth of 230mm. the footing diameter should be three times the diameter of the post being placed..
